Andrew SwartzNarrative | Executive Voice | communications advisory

Be understood.

Andrew Swartz

The hardest communications problems are not usually knowing what to say. They happen when what you say doesn’t land the way you intended; when what you want someone to think, feel or do is not what they take away.

I work with companies and executives to shape what they say so the message actually connects with the audience they need to reach.

Narrative & Messaging

I help companies clarify what matters, strengthen the story they’re telling and shape the message so it connects with the right people and drives the response the business needs.

Work can include:

  • Core narrative and positioning
  • Sales and website messaging
  • Corporate and executive communications

Executive Voice & Thought Leadership

You have expertise, ideas and a point of view. I help you develop them into communications that sound like you at your best. This starts with conversation, not a writing brief.

Work can include:

  • Articles and bylines
  • Speeches and presentations
  • Interviews and podcast conversations

Fractional Communications Advisory

I work with companies that need senior communications leadership across a focused set of priorities, but aren’t ready to build a full communications function.

Ongoing support can include:

  • Owning and evolving the company narrative
  • Supporting executive communications
  • Planning the communications capability the business should build next

About Andrew

Andrew performing on stage in a white suit and cowboy hat

I’ve been telling stories for as long as I can remember, from the stage as a struggling young actor to acting in another language more than 25 years later. Somewhere along the way, that became a career in communications.

What has always interested me is the same question: how do you connect with an audience? How does language change what people hear, understand and feel? And what makes an idea stick?

Over the years, I’ve worked across technology, financial services, consumer brands, professional education and emerging industries, helping companies and executives make complicated things clearer and good ideas more compelling.

After living in Canada and the U.S. on and off for most of my life, Mexico City is now where my wife and I call home with our three story-loving kids. It’s a fitting place to keep thinking about language, culture, audiences and how ideas travel.
